L Ladder: To evolve upward. Your path of ascent through understanding the various levels of a situation. If it is a metal ladder, it is based on spiritual or superconscious information or truths. Ladder of success. Wood probably relates more to success in the conscious world. Lake: Lakes are symbols for the subconscious and intuitive aspects of the human mind. Where is your lake? What kind of person would like to visit it? What kind of life lives in and around it? What colors are in and around the lake? How do you feel about it in your dream? Why is it a lake or pond and not a sea or ocean? See Spirit. Lamb: The innocent sacrifice. Lamp or Light Fixture: Illumination. Able to see what formerly was in darkness. Understanding. Landscape: Sense of good fortune and abundance. The greener the landscape, the greater the abundance. Also: Landscapes or backgrounds most often represent the emotional environment or overall emotional undertone of your dream, meditation or experience. Landscapes are the settings for your personal dramas, and none of them ever are there by accident. Your subconscious has chosen its landscape for very specific reasons. Every piece of your landscape has a special meaning to you, each piece is an object and symbol. Interpret each object of the landscape itself as well as analyzing the background as a whole unit. What do the pieces tell you about the meaning of the whole? Why is your dream taking place in this particular landscape and not in some other? What kind of a person would be attracted by this landscape? What kind of a person would avoid it? How do you feel about it in your dream. How would your dream or life change if you changed the landscape? Why? Also: Landscapes represent our moods and attitudes, but particularly the set of habitual feelings we meet life with. As we create our surroundings in our dreams, landscapes depict what feelings we ourselves generate and live in.Large: Size is related to the importance we attach to objects/persons; the power, or lack of it, we perceive them to have over us (thus related to our own feelings of power/powerlessness, one up/one down, topdog/underdog); emotions attached to any of the preceding; emotional or ego positions/postures. A large, possibly looming, figure often represents authority/power, menacing or helpful depending on the dream action. Large/oversized figures/animals, possibly monsters, in an adult dream may represent childhood memories/fears, or buried traumatic experiences. They can also signal an archetypal figure/theme.Lateness: Could be hinting that time is running out in some aspect of your life. OR If you are arriving late, your unconscious may be telling you to be more perceptive and to use more foresight when making plans. Lateness suggests that the dreamer may be feeling unprepared and distracted in a particular situation in daily life or in regard to long term goals.Left Behind: Feelings of rejection or inadequacy; sense of waking up to what you have not done or experienced in life. Light: Illumination about life. The Higher Source. God. The essence of universal life as it pertains to the dreamer. If the light is on, the illumination is being received. If the light is off, the illumination is at hand, but needs to be turned on. ~ Wisdom, higher power. Ability to see and understand. Lion: Karma. The power of the past to affect you. Past lives or past life. It is the king of the beasts on the earth, as is karma, which is nothing more than your programming or memory. Lips: An imparting of awareness, either through a kiss or through speech. Symbols of sexuality and sensuality. Symbols of communication. Lizard: Unfounded fear, not poisonous, but primitive emotion none the less. Locusts: Shedding of skin of old self in order to grow. Could also be snake shedding skin. Logs: Those past Selves which are being cut down or eliminated by new growths. This indicates a clearing of karma or the soul's memory. The information (wood, lumber) can be used to construct the new you. Love: Like most emotions, love in a dream is usually a direct expression of that feeling, or a compensation for not receiving it. So one question to ask is whether we are trying to compensate for a lack in our life. Apart from that it may be helpful to see in what way the love is being expressed in the dream. Adult Love: Growing sense of recognizing needs of partner. Ability to be something for the partner's sake without losing one's own independence or will. Becoming aware of the issues which color or influence relationships and dealing with them as partners. Independence and closeness together. Caring about sexual partner through discovering each other's needs and vulnerability. Also: For most of us, love is a full-time obsession . We are concerned about the love of our parents, children, co-workers, friends, and many, many others. There is nothing more important to our emotional, psychological, or spiritual well-being than love. It is a vital part of any growth process. We need to have a healthy dose of self-love so that we can, in turn, love the world. Dreams may be filled with images of love, friendship, compassion, and lust. In the end, it is all about acceptance and belonging. To be loved is to feel accepted and have a sense of belonging. In our dreams we may be trying to figure out this mystery called love. The dream may be wish-fulfilling or compensatory in nature. It may be spiritual or practical, but always deals with a significant part of our psyche or our daily lives.Lumber: See "Wood"M Makeup/Cosmetics: Our ability to change the impression we make on others; cover up for our real feelings or situation. Desire to attract attention; our public traits; cover up. Meadow: Lush personal growth in an open, abundant and nurturing environment. (See also Field.) Meat: Strong sustenance relating to concepts or truths. The main course. Metal: Based on spiritual or superconscious information or truths. Milk: Watered down truth or immature understanding. Map: Path you chose to follow Magazine: Your life as a lot of different stories. Since it is printed material it also is precognitive and not just something mental or spiritual. Metal: based on spiritual or superconscious information or truths. Mirror: It is a symbol of vanity and superficiality.
You may be concerned about your image and the way you present yourself
to the world. Some say that if you see a clear image, you may be getting
a glimpse of your true self. OR, to see oneself in a mirror is a sign that
you will soon be facing issues within yourself that you have been subconsciously
hiding from yourself. OR, Seeing yourself in the mirror is a sign that
somebody is making you aware of your mistake. Seeing a mirror means that
you need to become more self-aware. Looking into a mirror signifies that
the opinion you have about yourself is different from what people think
of you.
Broken mirrors always seem to be a sign of bad luck, or, at least, represent some distortions.Money: A symbol of the material world. It could also be telling you that you are about to receive some opportunities for making money. Or you could be worried about financial matters in life, and your dream could be reflecting this. Monkey: Like a gorilla but more frivolous and not as dangerous. Moon: Ever changing, reflective of the "true" light of superconscious. Represents the subconscious mind. Also the force of love. ~ Phases and emotions that at times overshadow one. Intense emotions. ~ Security, inner peace, romance, love, creativity, inspiration, intuition Motorcycle: Sense of power and freedom relating to security and being in control. Also relates balance or lack of it. See Transportation. Mountain: Isolation, retiring from the fray of active live to contemplate. ~ A large challenge. The need to seek one's higher self to obtain success. Movie: Same as television Moving: To dream that you are moving away, signifies your desire or need for change. It may also mean an end to a situation or relationship and your are moving on. Alternatively, it indicates your determination and issues regarding dependence/independence. Mud: Our most primordial nature, with its needs and instincts; the less savory biological functions and building materials that tie us to the natural world. ~ You may feel as if you are getting stuck in something or this may hint at mistreatment of the body. Murder: The violent taking of another's life indicates unrepressed anger and the desire to end a present situation or relationship, in order to open to a new one. It is symbolic and not literal. (See Killing) Museum: A glimpse into the collective Unconscious, the storehouse of humankind’s memories and most awe-inspiring creations and memories. Music: The sounds of your life. Is the music melodious and beautiful, or is it loud and harsh? ~ Healing, creative flow of life. N Naked: Looking at the essential self and if concerned or embarrassed means you are searching for an identity in life. If in the presence of others it shows that you cannot hide the condition of your essential self from the various aspects of Self. ("The Naked Truth") Need for clothes (identity). ~ Whatever is represented by the nude person is devoid of an identity. Also: A desire for or a sense of total freedom. Free from the conventions of life and others. Those who appear naked are those who are free. The key to nakedness is how it is viewed and responded to. With embarrassment? With shame? With guilt? With pride?Navy and Naval Personnel or Uniforms: Spiritual guides or principles from the subconscious. The Navy, like the whale, are masters of the sea of emotions. They could be likened to the security forces attempting to keep peace in the subconscious See Spirit.Nest: The home base, the safe place for the eggs (the beginnings) of life's issues. A bird's nest points to freedom. An insect's nest points to annoyances. Check the number of eggs in the nest and their color. Or is the nest empty? Newspaper: Daily life. Nose: The human body's probe and sensor -- of little use in modern times, but heavily-used in earlier times to diagnose illness, determine quality, locate hunted quarry, predict weather and more. A dream emphasis on the nose may be a nudge from the Unconscious to trust your senses and rely on your instincts in a given situation. Also: To see your own nose in your dream, signifies a conscious effort to achieve whatever endeavor you chose to undertake. The nose represents energy, intuition, and wisdom. Alternatively, the nose symbolizes curiosity. You dream may suggest your need to learn more about a situation at hand.No pants: (Or Looking for Pants) Not in control. Nurse: The healer and comforter in Self. Healing process; someone you know who is a nurse; job of work for many; sister. ~ You need to be taken care of. A time of healing, either mentally, physically or spiritually. Nurses, Doctors, Carpenters: Symbols saying that the dreamer needs to fix something in his/her life. O Obstacle: This could be a very obvious suggestion to obstacles you are facing in present life. If so, how did you overcome them? Ocean/Sea: The Great Spirit, the Infinite, God, the First Cause, the Creator, The Primal Force, you get the idea. The fountain source and ultimate destination of all water (spirit). As spirit becomes manifested in life...it objectifies inside us as emotion. Therefore water equals emotion or feeling. ~ Enormous emotional energy. ~ A deep emotional issue. If the waters are calm, the issue has been resolved, and is at rest. If the waters are stormy and rough, the issue is turbulent. If you are in the sea, you are dealing with the issue.
